Mechanical Reasoning Ability Test - MRAT™
Mechanical reasoning is the ability to assess the outcomes and causes of mechanical events. Questions that assess this ability will often require a candidate to either predict the outcomes of mechanical activities, reason backwards from an event to a probable mechanical cause, or identify the purpose of a mechanical device or tool.
The MRAT is designed to complement our entry-level firefighter test for departments interested in obtaining a reliable assessment of mechanical comprehension and mechanical reasoning. In addition, the MRAT can be used as a test for other positions where such abilities are important and job-related.
